Name prompts by outcome
A prompt called Product feedback triage is easier to reuse than Assistant v7. The name should tell you what work the prompt performs before you open it.

Separate instructions from examples
Reusable prompts age better when the durable rule, the temporary context, and the example output are visibly different. That makes edits safer when a workflow changes.

Keep the prompt small enough to inspect
Long prompts are sometimes necessary, but they should earn their length. If a prompt cannot be reviewed quickly, it becomes harder to trust than writing from scratch.
